Enchantment Rules
Mr. Comus wrote up enchantment rules, and it got me thinking about how I would handle it.
When you wish to forge an enchanted item you need a wizard's tower and a forge complete with tools like anvils and hammers.
Enchantments provide what is called a "plus value" to an item. This so-called "plus value" provides a bonus equal to the number when used for a so-called "relevant task." An enchanted sword with a "plus value" equal to 2 (sometimes called a "+2 sword") would add 2 to all Hit and Damage rolls. A grappling hook with a "plus value" of 2 would add 2 to rolls made to grapple or hook things.
Each "plus value" takes a certain amount of time and costs the big bucks:
- +1, 10,000gp, 3 months
- +2, 50,000gp, 1 year
- +3, 100,000gp, 3 years
Cut the cost and time in half for non-weapons like goblets or bongs.
