In Praise of Lions

There is no more noble creature than the Lion, that with its great beard. They lead haughty Lionesses and must always conduct themselves with pride—to act a coward is to be deposed by rivals. In battle, they are valiant commanders who fight in the fore and lead by example. It was Lions that taught men to be knights, and showed them how to slay Dragons.

Should one cast a sword in front of a Lion it will place a paw upon the blade and acknowledge its challenger. A duel till death or surrender begins once the sword is taken up. Lionesses watch on with interest.

To kill a Lion who has surrendered is as shameful as killing hostages. Such killers should expect no clemency should they find themselves at sword point.

Compel a Lion to surrender in a duel to claim its pride and responsibilities. Alternatively, a Lionkiller may wear its mane to grant a bonus of 2 to Hit to all 1HD followers.
